If you do some research you will find that Clickteam Fusion is a very popular Game design tool and even the developer Asley Gullen from Scirra Software based all his designs from Clickteam which he himself was a user / developer before he created Construct, Construct 2 & 3.īut if your considering on developing a runtime for Clickteam Fusion 2.5 in the near future then that is good enough for me as well as several others I know and talked with that would purchase Spine in a heartbeat if they knew a runtime for fusion 2.5 was in the works someday soon in the future. The Clickteam Fusion developers would just need to take that and render it. The generic runtimes handle loading, parsing, manipulating, and preparing the skeleton data for rendering. For example, this is what Game Maker Studio does and it allows them to render Spine animations very efficiently. I have not looked closely at Clickteam Fusion's SDK, but if that is the case it would be better for the Clickteam Fusion developers to use one of our generic runtimes to add Spine support themselves. Some game toolkits, such as Construct, don't provide APIs with sufficient performance to allow us to implement a Spine runtime efficiently. We would be happy to support it, but in many cases such toolkits are not designed for low level plugins. To be honest, this is the first I have heard of Clickteam Fusion. We try to support the most popular programming languages and as many game toolkits as possible. Yves Lamoureux was also a successful game developer prior to co-founding Clickteam, working with multiple companies on games. Both of these have since been released in open-source form on the Clickteam orginisation website.
